My goals are on 43things.com

August 14th, 2008 John Hill Posted in My life, goal setting |

I decided to share my goals on 43things.com (link takes directly to my page). I think it’s very inspirational site and I recommend it to anyone wanting to reach their goals.

I try to keep my goals prioritized, but sometimes small and less important goals will benefit higher level goal, so I move the small goals higher on my list. That way I get a feeling I am making progress towards the higher level goal when I complete the low level goal. I wish the site supported hierachies, so I could but “exercise regularly” and “be a good father” under “be happy”.

Many goals are ongoing things that will never be complete (like “be happy”). For those I try to find something that indicates I have managed to keep working towards that goal during past month or so (I mark “exercise regularly” complete after each month of following some fitness program).
